Following the launch of the LaVie Z series of ultra-light laptops at CES, which included Lenovo’s lightest laptop to date at 780 grams – the Lenovo LaVie HZ550 – the Chinese PC and mobile giant has finally put two of its LaVie Z laptops up for sale, at price higher than previously tipped at the trade show.

Apart from the weight, the two laptops appear identical – though the Lenovo LaVie Z 360 stands on a hinge that allows for a 360 degree rotation. As we mentioned above, Lenovo has not launched  the 780-gram base model as previously exposed, but has launched a 848-gram variant that still beats the 12-inch Mac Book 921 grams, 11-inch Mac Book Air’s 1.08 kegs.

Display and Design

The all new Leno Lavie Z360 Laptop comes with a 13.3-inch WQHD LED touch display that garners a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1440 Pixels and is sure to deliver a hypnotic viewing experience with good clarity and well defined colours. The laptop is housed in a 17.0 mm smooth black glossy outfit and looks very elegant. It weighs only 0.9 Kg which also makes the device very easy to convey and work on it on the move. The input device in this laptop comprises of a AccuType Keyboard and a Touchpad with Multi-touch Gesture support.

Processor & OS:-

The LaVie Z (and LaVie Z 360) comes with a 64-bit Windows 8.1OS. It has a 13.3-inch WQHD (2560×1440) LED-backlit IPS anti-glare display, and is powered by an Intel Core i7-5500U Processor (dual-core with Hyper-Threading, clocked at 2.4GHz, Turbo clock 3GHz) attached with integrated Intel HD Graphic 5500 graphics and up to 8GB of LPDDR3 1600MHz RAM.

The laptop offers up to 9 hours of video playback when detailing the 6-cell Li-polymer battery of the LaVie Z .There are many Connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11ac ,Bluetooth v4.0, two USB 3.0 ports, a SD card reader, one HDMI-out, and a combo headphone and mic jack. Other things 720p HD webcam, Lenovo is also touting the on-board Yamaha Audio Engine utility.

The new Chrome box by Lenovo is said to be a one-litre desktop (with a cubic capacity of roughly 1000cc) that can be easily managed due to its compact size. Lenovo is also touting the “full ecosystem of optional accessories while Google’s Chrome operating system offers a wide range of easy to use applications to learn, share, and collaborate in a highly secure environment.”

Camera, storage and multimedia

Lenovo Z360 integrates a decent and functioning webcam in this model to provide users with a continuous video calling functionality. The web camera can also record HD videos and click decent quality photos. The device decreases a bit short in internal storage space as it only 256GB hard disk. The Lenovo Z360 also provides good quality sound from its in-built stereo speakers that runs on YAMAHA Audio Engine technology to take the sound quality in movies and songs played in the device to a higher support.


The Lenovo Lavie Z 360 Price is justified as it is a solid laptop, suitable for official purposes, sensible gaming, watching high quality videos and net browsing. The device with an exceptional design, powerful processor, impressive display and a wide array of features is a decent buy.
