Nexus 5X vs Moto X, the two phones that were released last month, has been the point of a lot of speculations. Both the phones are affordable, and have high end specifications. Both are from major brands, which are renowned for coming up with quality phones and absolutely fantastic features. But, the point is, which one is better and worth buying? Which one offers better features?
The two handsets differ slightly price wise, but they are quite different from each other when it comes to both design and materials. Nexus 5X is a plastic build, and those who have used Nexus previously, will love the feel of this new model. It is lightweight and durable model. It is complete with a matte finish, which makes the grip easy.
Moto X, on the other hand, appears to be the larger among the two handsets. It has a metal frame, and gives you rigidity. Of course, it is not as comfortable as the plastic model. It sports a larger screen, hence the hugeness. It is not good from grip perspective.
The Nexus phones are available in black and white colors, while Moto X is available in wood, leather, colored accents and some engravings.
The panel plays a pivotal role in differentiating the two models. Moto X is 5.7” while Nexus 5X is 5.2”. The resolution of the two screens is also different. Nexus comes with a 1080p definition while Moto X comes with a QHD 2560×1440 panel.
Nexus offers amazing viewing angles, and Moto X offers brighter and crisper images and more vibrancy in the colors and definition. From media consumption perspective, Moto X is a good choice.
Now, let’s take a look at the insides of the phone. 5X runs on a Snapdragon 808 processor coupled with a 2 GB RAM. While Moto X sports the same processor, the RAM comes with an extra GB. The Moto X comes with a 3 GB RAM. Both offer good performance, and there is hardly any difference visually among the two. In fact, both processors are clocked at the same speed.
Nexus has come up with the USB Type-C, a technology that will help build a superior phone. Of course, this technology is not currently present on a lot of devices, and so Nexus will need to wait till it is adapted.
Nexus also offers fingerprint scan, which is not a part of the Moto X phones. The memory options are higher with Moto X as compared to Nexus. Moto X offers 16, 32 and 64 GB phones, while Nexus offers only 16 and 32 GB phones.
5X offers 2700 mAh battery while Moto X offers 3000 mAh battery, which means Moto X offers better battery life. Nexus 5X runs on Android 6.0 doze while Moto X has come out with its own version of the doze technology.
Nexus phones are known for their camera quality. Both Nexus, and Motorola has come up with excellent camera and picture quality. 5X sports a 12.3MP sensor combined with laser autofocus. Moto X on the other hand offers a 21 MP sensor coupled with phase detection auto focus. Neither camera possesses the image stabilization facility.
Both phones have come out with their own features and functionality. The hardware and software is aesthetic and functional. If you want any more help on defining the right choice, you can get in touch with us.
